Growing up, did you listen to your father’s story of sailing to Scotland on the troop transport Queen Elizabeth?  Or maybe it was your Aunt Mildred, a member of the Army Nurse Corps, & her voyage on the USAT George Washington through U-Boat infested waters to Casablanca.  Then there was Cousin Ray & his SeaBee Unit that sailed from San Francisco on the USS West Point  AP-23 to Noumea, New Caledonia!  The stories remain, but the name of the ship may have been forgotten.  Here is your chance to learn not only the name of the ship, but additional facts about your loved one’s time at sea during
WW 2!
For many Veterans, the voyage overseas as well as their voyage home contained some of the most memorable experiences of their
WW 2 service.  Recollections of sleeping accommodations, the quality & quantity of food, feeding the fish or endless hours of gambling, it was a period of the Veteran’s service few have forgotten.
After exhaustive research, I have compiled from published sources a fact based list of troop ships, as well as dates & locations for each voyages.  A bibliography for this fact based list is at the bottom of this page.  For a fee of $20, I will provide you electronically with the following:

  • The name & photograph of the troop ship the Veteran sailed overseas on, as well as the voyage home
  • Date & location the Veteran departed the US & arrived overseas
  • Date & location the Veteran departed the theater they served in & arrived back in the US
  • If one of the ships cannot be identified, you are refunded $10.  If both ships cannot be identified, you are refunded in full.
Simply e-mail me you are interested & have ready a    photocopy    of the Veteran’s Discharge Documents to send to me via First Class USPS.  After receiving the photocopy of the Discharge Documents I will do the research, then e-mail you whether the ship(s) have been documents or not.  I will inform you as to the check amount, $20 or $10.  Send me the check made out to    WW 2 Connections   & I will send you the facts via an e-mail.
